Detailed Preparation Guidelines for VIS 17
 

(Camera-Ready) Submission Deadlines:
  • August 1, 2017: VAST Confernece Papers
  • August 8, 2017: Posters, Panels, Tutorials, Workshops, Art Show, VAST Challenge, Doctoral Colloquium

All material submitted to the tracks listed below will appear on the conference electronic proceedings (USB drive).

  • Submission Instructions:
    • VAST Conference Papers: 10 full colour pages (maximum 9 pages of main text and 1 (or more) pages for references)
      1. Review the Submission Guidelines found below
      2. submit the IEEE Copyright Form
      3. go over the Checklist
      4. submit camera-ready PDF online to PCS
      5. Camera-Ready Deadline: August 1, 2017
    • Posters: 2 full colour pages
      1. Review the Submission Guidelines found below
      2. VAST and SciVis Posters: submit the IEEE Copyright Form
      3. go over the Checklist
      4. submit camera-ready PDF online to PCS
      5. Camera-Ready Deadline: August 8, 2017

    • Panels: 4 pages
      1. Title
      2. Include a position statement on the topic and a short biography, the total of which should be limited to 500 words for each panelist, up to a maximum of four pages for the whole panel
      3. a very short 100-word abstract for the printed program
      4. submit camera-ready PDF via email to Chairs
      5. Camera-Ready Deadline: August 8, 2017

    • VAST Challenge: 2 full colour pages
      1. Review the Submission Guidelines found below
      2. submit the IEEE Copyright Form
      3. go over the Checklist
      4. submit camera-ready PDF according to the chairs instructions
      5. Camera-Ready Deadline: August 15, 2017

    • SciVis Contest: 2 pages
      1. Review the Submission Guidelines found below
      2. go over the Checklist
      3. submit camera-ready PDF via email to Chairs
      4. Camera-Ready Deadline: July 31, 2017

    • Tutorials and Workshops: compile the following information:
      1. Title
      2. Organizers / Lecturers
      3. Abstract (max 500 (Tutorials) and 150 (Workshops) words)
      4. a very short 100-word abstract for the printed program
      5. submit camera-ready PDF online to PCS
      6. Camera-Ready Deadline: August 8, 2017

    • Doctoral Colloquium: 2 pages
      1. Review the Submission Guidelines found below
      2. go over the Checklist
      3. submit camera-ready PDF via email to Chairs
      4. Camera-Ready Deadline: August 8, 2017
  • Submission Guidelines:
    • Formatting Guidelines (for all accepted categories - papers, posters, contest, panel etc)
    • Prepare a high quality PDF
    • (optional) assemble supplemental material for the USB; make sure to submit all files with your camera-ready PDF, even if you already submitted them with your initial submission.
    • If you have not registered by the registration deadline your PDF will *not* appear in the USB proceedings.
